Halfway through this four day game, 
Gloucestershire lead by 191 runs with 7 second 
innings wickets left are batting themselves 
into a strong position.

Tim Hancock made 63 before being caught behind 
off Martin McCague's bowling, whilst Cunliffe 
scored 40. Mark Alleyne, with 42 and Matthew 
Windows (40) were not out at the close as the 
home side ended the day on 212 for 3.

Earlier in the morning Kent were dismissed for 
163 having added 69 to their overnight score. 
Steve Marsh was the top scorer, making 60.

17 wickets fell on the first day - the pitch 
has been reported by the umpires as a matter of 
course but they have stressed they feel it has 
nothing to do with the poor batting display by 
both sides.
