On Monday in Brisbane they beat the Sri Lankans by 4 wickets with three balls to spare, Neil Fairbrother top scoring with 67, Adam Hollioake taking three wickets. In the first game of the tournament, England beat Australia by seven runs in a rain reduced match. Australia were set 153 to win from 36 overs but could only manage 145 despite an unbeaten 56 by Bevan. Mullally took 4 for 18 and Kent's Mark Ealham 1 wicket (he also made 14 with the bat). Two Kent players, Mark Ealham and Dean Headley, are playing in the Carlton and United One-Day Series.
