Burridge Cricket Club - Formed 1968
Potted history
Burridge Cricket Club were formed in 1968 and played on the Fareham Council
Recreation Ground at Burridge. It played friendly cricket until 1977, and
joined the Hampshire Cricket League in 1978, entering the Regional South
East League.
A second XI friendly side was formed in 1979 and entered the local Southdown
League in 1984. A third XI was created in 1986 and a fourth side joined the
Winchester League in 1993.
The Sports and Social Club acquired Burridge Sports Ground in 1990 where the
current first and second XIs play. Over the following years, the Cricket
Club worked and improved the ground, being awarded the Hampshire League
"Ground of the Year" Award in 1996. In 1997 and 1998, the Club hosted
representative games for Hampshire County Cricket Club colts Under 16s and
Under 17s as well as the Hampshire Cricket Board.
The Club currently has over 50 senior members, as well as in excess of 40
colts playing U11, U13 and U15 levels.

1985 - 1st XI promoted to Hampshire County Division 4
1986 - 1st XI promoted to Hampshire County Division 3
1988 - 1st XI promoted to Hampshire County Division 2 as champions
1989 - 1st XI promoted to Hampshire County Division 1
1994 - 2nd XI promoted to Hampshire East Division 1 as champions
1995 - 1st XI promoted to Hampshire County Division 1 as champions
1996 - 1st XI promoted to Southern Cricket League. Won Hampshire League
"Ground of the Year" award (for most improved ground)
1997 - 2nd XI promoted to Hampshire County Division 5
