Hursley Park Cricket Club - Formed 1785
Potted history
The ground is situated in picturesque surrounds in the centre of the
private Hursley Estate. The club possesses two squares, the Main and
Nursery, which are maintained along with the rest of the arena by ten
regular volunteers.
The honours of Hursley Park are impressive, with two visits to Lord's in the
National Village Cup, the last in 1992 as champions. Along the way, they
have been league Champions four times and an equal number as runners up in
the past twenty years.
Numerous finals and representative matches are played at Hursley Park.
Star performers who have played for the club include South African Test
player Derek Crookes,
former Hampshire and Glamorgan off-spinner Nigel Cowley,
and current county wicket-keeper and 2000 beneficiary, Adrian Aymes,
in his 25th year as a Member of Hursley Park Cricket Club.
