Each team to receive a maximum of 40 overs, with each bowler restricted to 8 overs and the bowler's run-up restricted to 15 yards.
Where teams are level on points, position is determined by average run-rate per over throughout the season.

Win: 4 points
Tie: 2 points
No result: 1 point

Prize Money
1st: 1000 pounds
2nd: 500 pounds
3rd: 250 pounds

Winner of each match: 50 pounds

Sixes award: 1000 pounds to be shared equally by each six hit - K.D.Boyce of Essex hit the most sixes (16) - there were 355 in all.

Bowling award: 1000 pounds to be shared equally by each four wickets in an innings performance - T.W.Cartwright of Warwickshire and D.L.Underwood of Kent took the most with 3 instances - there were 56 in all.

Each County also received 3000 pounds for taking part.
