A jam-packed stadium at Newlands witnessed South Africa make the
ideal start in the lung opener against West Indies. Leading from
the front was Shaun Pollock, who bowled magnificently after West

African skipper at his meanest best, he also claimed both the
openers in a six-over spell that saw him concede just nine runs.
