The West Indies score of 244/9 would in all likelihood have
proved too daunting for Bangladesh. But fortunately for them,
they did not have to chase it, for with their score at 34/2 the
skies opened. The rain would never let up and finally the umpires
were left with no option but to call off the match at 17:00 local
time. "It is something that was out of our control, we need to
regroup and look forward to our next game. In the end Bangladesh
were saved by the rain," West Indies skipper Carl Hooper observed
in his post-match interview.
