Coming into the World Cup, Shane Bond was touted as New Zealand's
great bowling hope. But despite having played four matches in the
tournament, the one-time policeman hasn't yet been able to
discover the discipline he requires to turn into a serious match-
winner. On Wednesday against Bangladesh, Bond bowled some very
fine in-cutters but they were followed by a few slipshod
deliveries that went down the leg-side and got tonked for easy
runs. The lack of quality players in the Bangladesh batting,
though, meant that Bond ended with the rather healthy figures of
3/33 from his 10 overs.
