With the departure of Tendulkar three short of his century,
Sourav Ganguly showed why he is the only batsman to record two
centuries in this World Cup. Batting fluently, the Indian skipper
made sure that the run rate did not flag at any point. A clean
pulled six over midwicket was the highlight of Ganguly’s 48 that
came off 53 balls and included two fours and as many sixes. With
the middle overs well taken care of, India finished well, ending
on 292/6 from 50 overs.
