Yuvraj Singh could be classified as an all rounder in limited overs
cricket, if only he could regain true batting form. His is a reversal
of the classic Indian 'spindrift' syndrome afflicting players who
start out as spin bowlers, but turn into batsmen over time, gradually
forgetting their bowling. He made an explosive start in international
cricket with his brilliant batting against Australia at Nairobi less
than a year ago, but is today just about holding his place in the team
because of his useful bowling. All he needs to do is put his
head down until the runs start flowing. And as he proved with his brilliant unbeaten 98
against Sri Lanka in the Coca-Cola Cup, he certainly is one for the future.
