When India beat the Australians in the closely fought three Test series recently, the atmosphere at various venues was electrifying. Wherever the Indian team played, the stands were chock a bloc full and spilling over. The Australians, like most touring sides, had a small contingent of die-hard fans. At regular intervals, a player from the visiting side would look over to the stands where the Kangaroo mannequins were being thrown in the air, waved and indeed held dear and make a gesture. This seemed to lift the touring Aussies no end. The support for the home side however, was on a different plane altogether.
