Sadagoppan Ramesh: This 26-year-old left-handed batsman from Tamil Nadu scores most of his runs on the off side, second only to Ganguly when it comes to off side strokeplay. Made his debut against Pakistan in 1998/99 in Chennai and has gone on to play 15 Test matches for India. He has so far scored 1125 runs at an average of 40.17 per innings. He has a pronounced weakness against genuine fast bowling, playing and missing outside the off stump. He would be up against Heath Streak and company in Zimbabwe and India would hope to get a good start through him.
