Anil Kumble has been in the wilderness for almost a year. The ace leg-spinner is renowned for his accurate bowling and his ability to strike when it matters the most. He is bound to be a bit rusty to start with and the whole team would want him to get into a rhythm at the earliest. This will also be a real test on his injured shoulder and say a lot about his future as a player. Along with Harbhajan Singh, he will be asked to tie down the flow of runs in the middle overs and there is a possibility that the South Africans might single him out early in the tournament. His long experience should come in handy in such pressure situations; it though is never going to be easy for Anil Kumble.
