Shivnarine Chanderpaul gave the West Indies innings the much-needed final burst with an attacking and attractive 51 off just 46 balls. Chanderpaul hit a huge six over mid-wicket and smacked three fours in his knock. Along with Carl Hooper he added 62 runs in 9.1 overs for the fourth wicket, which enabled West Indies to post a total of 266/5 in their allotted 50 overs. The brilliant batting display by the resurgent Windies batsmen ensured a 27 run victory.
