Mark Boucher was the most successful wicket-keeper in the
tournament, underlying the importance of a specialist wicket-
keeper. India opted to sacrifice their specialist wicket-
keeper Deep Dasgupta and asked Rahul Dravid to stand behind
the stumps, clearly a plan that failed. Boucher snapped up 12
catches wearing the gloves and proved once again that he is a
vital member of the South African team. He blasted a half
century off just 19 balls against Kenya and finished the tri-
sries with an average of 89.00 and a strike rate of 117.10.
Indian players better watch out for Boucher behind and in
front of the wicket.
