No miracles, no real surprises, even - Zimbabwe lost the First Test match
against India by an innings. Our team is playing on pitches that overwhelmingly
favour the opposition, they lack the spark which appears only occasionally
these days that enables them to play above themselves, and virtually all
the cricket supporters I have spoken to believe we are not playing our
strongest team anyway. [More]

Squeezed
out of juice in the Orange City

Four
days and one session was how long the Zimbabweans lasted out at the Vidarbha
Cricket Ground in the city of Oranges, Nagpur. The first Test match of
the two match series ended in favour of the home team, as they marked
their supremacy with an innings and 101-run victory. The visitors were
left with thoughts of salvaging pride in the next match. [More]
Four
to join Zim squad for ODI
Four
Zimbabwe cricket players will be joining the national team for the one-day
international series against India, beginning next Thursday (07 March
2002). Three of them, Gary Brent, Charles Coventry and Douglas Marillier
will leave Harare for Delhi on Sunday morning. They will be joined in
the Indian capital by Douglas Hondo, who is playing in Australia. [More]

setting up what promises to be an explosive finish to the 2001/02 club
cricket season.

lost their first match in the Logan Cup to Mashonaland by eight wickets
in a match where the result was probably decided on the first day with
the loss of the toss. A gruelling first day took its toll on the young
side and they never really recovered from there on.

a fortnight ago to beat Takashinga convincingly by seven wickets in the
league cup semi-final last Sunday. Played on a knife-edge, Manicaland
hung tough through a day of provocation and discourtesy to earn a home
