I was unaware until last week's ZCO had gone for publication of the date
changes in matches that had affected the Zimbabwe fixture list. Not only
has the venue for the match against Border B been changed, but it has
also been put back a week (starting Friday 15 February) so the team can
stay down south to fulfill their match against KwaZulu-Natal B a week
later. [More]

ABSENCE OF KEY PLAYERS
Some of your key players keep disappearing from the team for long spells,
and the team really suffers as a result. You said Blignaut was not co-operating
with the Zimbabwe Cricket Union, so he was not available for selection.
It's good to see Alistair Campbell back in the team, but what about Guy
Whittall, Paul and Bryan Strang? Is there any chance that these players
will be back in time for the 2003 World Cup? Is the lack of money the
only reason, or are there some other problems as well?

Matabeleland
report
by Derrick Townshend
The Matabeleland selectors have finalized the side to play Mashonaland
this weekend, leaving Jason Hitz out of the named 13 with Munir Makadam
as 12th man. The team has not as yet been announced. The decision to omit
Jason Hitz from the 13 is rather harsh as he was twelfth man for the whole
of last season and attended every practice; his batting has improved through
the current season beyond all recognition, and a better team man is hard
to find. [More]
