Siziba, one of the products of the township development scheme in Zimbabwe,
shares in a rare record in first-class cricket. He is only the tenth player

TOUR CANCELLATION
I am saddened to read your editorial regarding the emigration of David
Houghton and the cancellation of the Australian tour. Small countries
such as Zimbabwe and New Zealand, from where I am writing, can ill afford
to lose such talent from the game or its infrastructure. I am a regular
reader of Zimbabwe Cricket Online and your editorials and I am saddened
by the obvious troubles the game and the country is going through. In
this age of pictures sometimes a few words paint a thousand words.

Organiser's
Report
Overall I believe that this little tournament was a success. Competitive
cricket was played, although the standard was variable. Players and officials
all appeared to get on and enjoy themselves and that is a very important
aspect. The weather was fine. All in all it was a good week. [More]

Notification for this tournament was very late and this made selection
difficult for two reasons. One, certain boys, who would have been first
choice (Pattison, Peretti and Eley), were unavailable due to family holidays.
