TELEVISION COVERAGE

Why is there no (live) cricket coverage on TV for both international and domestic first-class matches? ZCU should negotiate a deal with ZTV similar to the one ZIFA has for soccer or get a sponsor to lease air time on the TV2/JoyTV transmitter.

Kids in the development programmes need to be kept abreast of what is going on so that they stay interested in the sport. Besides parents of kids who are first-generation players on these programmes need to be encouraged so that they support their kids too - having TV coverage will really foster the development of cricket in this country.

I agree completely. Regarding international cricket, no doubt there will be coverage for home series, but probably foreign currency will be required for matches abroad, which will make that impossible. Regarding domestic cricket, probably there has been no great demand by the public yet. Perhaps you and your cricket-loving friends could bombard ZTV with phone calls and letters, and see if they respond.
