ZIMBABWE CRICKET YEARBOOK
Early this year Dave Ellman-Brown, then still general manager of the Zimbabwe Cricket Union, grew concerned at the lack of a lasting record in print covering Zimbabwe cricket. The last Zimbabwe Cricket Yearbook had appeared in 1999 after the World Cup in England.
The result is that the Yearbook has been revived and a new edition, covering the missing seasons of 1999/2000 and 2000/01, has already been produced. It is an attractive volume featuring a large photograph of Andy Flower at the crease on the front, and containing scorecards of all first-class matches played during those two seasons, together with averages. Also included are colour photos and cricketing humour, but no records, as these would be outdated.
Those wanting records as well will be able to catch up when the next edition appears, planned before the end of the year. Those interested in obtaining the edition just out should write to Lovemore Banda, Zimbabwe Cricket Union, Box 2739, Harare, Zimbabwe, enclosing a cheque for ten pounds or foreign currency equivalent, payable to the Zimbabwe Cricket Union.
