The latest publication from the Wisden Group, Cricinfo Magazine takes up where its predecessor Wisden Asia Cricket left off. The first issue of Cricinfo Magazine was released early in January 2006. The magazine, edited by Sambit Bal and produced by the editorial team behind Wisden Asia Cricket, is aimed primarily at an Indian audience, both in the country and overseas.

Cricinfo Magazine is published by Infomedia India Ltd, India's dominant publisher of special-interest magazines (Overdrive, Chip, AV Max) and business directories (Yellow Pages), under agreement with the Wisden Group.

Cricinfo Magazine aims to present the reader with the best cricket writing and photography from across the world. Regular contributors include Harsha Bhogle. Sanjay Manjrekar, Mukul Kesavan, Peter Roebuck, Gideon Haigh, and Patrick Eagar.

The magazine is a five-course affair. 'Shots of the Month' offers a selection of the best photographs from the month gone by. 'The Score' features short interviews, columns, quotes, stats, trivia, offbeat pieces, and plenty of humour. The mid-section presents essays, long interviews, profiles and other features. 'Replay' revisits the previous month's on-field action, with an emphasis on the bigger picture rather than rote match reports. And 'Pavilion' serves up a palette of reflective articles, reviews and other features that capture the beauty and romance of the game.

A good test of a publication is its shelf life. Cricinfo Magazine aims to last beyond the month: it is a magazine that can be read in one go or enjoyed in small helpings; more important, it is one that you can come back to a few months later. Like the great game itself, we hope to be timeless.
