ECB Media Release - NatWest England U19s name Squad for ODI series against Australia

The NatWest England Under 19s today named a 13-man squad containing three uncapped players for the forthcoming One-Day International series against Australia Under 19s.

Glamorgan all-rounder David Harrison, Yorkshire batsman John Inglis and Worcestershire pace bowler Chris Liptrot join ten other players who all toured New Zealand with the NatWest England Under 19 side this winter.

Durham batsman Michael Gough, who led the side in New Zealand where they drew the Test series 1-1 and lost the ODI series 2-1, has been re-appointed as Captain.

Former Leicestershire batsman Tim Boon will coach the side after taking over from John Abrahams earlier this season. He said: ``We have retained the nucleus of the side which went to New Zealand, but we are also keen to blood new players against high quality opposition.

``John Inglis and David Harrison have both been involved with the NatWest Development of Excellence programme while we have been impressed with Chris Liptrot's bowling performances for Worcestershire this summer in his first season in County Cricket.''

England, who are the current World Champions at Under 19 level, will play three One Day Internationals against Australia this summer followed by three four-day Test Matches. The day/night match at Hove on August 2 between the two sides will be the first international match to be played under lights in this country.

Australia Under 19s, who will be coached by former Australian Test wicket-keeper Rod Marsh, are making their first visit to England since 1991 when Greg Blewett, Damien Martyn and Adam Gilchrist were among the touring party.
