India got off to a miserable start even in their second innings, Gillespie got rid of SS Das (7) caught by Steve
Waugh. S Ramesh (44) played some breathtaking strokes on the off side and along with Rahul Dravid tried to
steady the Indian second innings. Ramesh fell to McGrath, caught behind by Ponting that prompted Ganguly to
send Nayan Mongia as the nightwatchman. Mongia was injured when a short rising delivery from Gillespie hit him
on his finger. Sachin Tendulkar had to come into the middle to play out the last five balls of the second day's
play.
