Sachin Tendulkar was due for a big knock. He found a good partner
in Rahul Dravid and together they got on top of a competent Aussie attack that
was not willing to give up in the hot and humid Chennai conditions. Sachin was
tested by a fiery spell from McGrath but came out in flying colours. Shane Warne
looked like getting the better of Dravid as he troubled him bowling around the
stumps to get the ball spin and bounce off the rough, just outside the leg stump.
Tendulkar was lucky to survive on 82 when he lofted the ball to mid-wicket off
the bowling of Colin Miller, only to see Michael Slater bungle an easy catch.
