Club Representatives
There will be a meeting for the organisers and club representatives at 1800 on Sunday 6th August in the Administration Office (Off Pusey Quad) at Keble. Important information and the match balls will be distributed here so it is imperative that the tour manager from each club is present.
Game times
All games will commence at 1100 and end following 20 overs from 1730. Lunch will be served at 1300 and tea 50 mins into the second innings. Coffee will be served for players at 1030 at all grounds. Please arrive in good time. Non-playing supporters should bring their own picnics & drinks to the grounds.
Drinks
Beer will be available at all grounds. Radley, Abingdon and St. Edwards will have cans and an honesty box for payment. We must ask for the contents of the honesty box to be brought to Keble each evening before 2030 by one of the team captains. All other pavilions will be running a staffed bar at lunch and after the game with the exception of Jesus which will have soft drinks only until 1800.
Umpires, scorers and cricket balls
Each club will provide their own umpires and scorers or they will have been appointed by Brian Wilson (01252 871939). Brian will invoice the clubs direct for those that he supplies (See match fees). Balls are to be distributed to each Club Secretary at the organisers meeting (See Club Representatives). All cricket balls are of the highest quality and have been supplied by Hunts County Bats.
Match Fees
It is down to each match manager (or captain) to collect match fees from their players. They should pay the Umpires and the scorers at the grounds (or hold it pending Brian’s invoice) and pay for the catering, ground hire and balls at the Keble administration office by 2030 each evening. Details of costs will be distributed at the Club Representatives meeting on 6th August.
Keble College
When people in Oxford say there is nowhere to park, they are not joking. Keble College is no exception. It is surrounded by double-yellow lines and the only parking meters - in Keble road - are active until 2200. Unfortunately, Oxford parking attendants are amongst the most diligent in the world and if you park illegally there is no escaping them.
Where to Park
If you are staying at Keble then you may drive into the entrance gate and drop your kit, then take your car to St. Edwards School, where we have secured parking for 50 cars. Heading up the Woodstock Road out of Oxford, turn left when you see the second sign to the Douglas Bader Sports Centre. Oxford 2000 car parking will be signposted. From there you may jump on any bus travelling back down the Woodstock Road to the city centre, alight at the Radcliffe Infirmary and walk across the road back to Keble.
Transport to the grounds
We have organised a small fleet of buses to take players and supporters to the grounds each day. There will be enough transport only for those staying at Keble. It has been arranged for those who have let us know which team they are playing for on each day.
Taxis
Local taxis can be booked on:
01865 242424 or 01865 770077

Wet Weather
Amlin PLC, specialist insurers and sponsors of the hover cover at Lord’s, have kindly stepped in to insure all games against wet weather. Their pluvious insurance will mean that even the worst English weather won’t prevent us from having fun at Oxford 2000. In the event of a washout, everyone will be welcome in the bar at Keble for a cricket quiz. Many thanks to Amlin PLC for securing high spirits - even in the rain.

Acknowledgements
Oxford 2000 is the brainchild of Geoffrey Hartley and has been organised by Ben and Tim Brocklehurst with the help of Sue White, Pippa Anderson and Alan Miller at The Cricketer. The task was made a great deal easier thanks to the time and research put in by Richard Pineo in Oxford.
Together, we would like to thank all the people who have helped and co-operated in bringing it about, from the groundsmen to the club managers to the school bursars. Particular thanks should go to Janet Betts, Conference Director at Keble, for all her time and energy that brought us the facilities we needed at Keble, and Roger Clithero, Bursar of St. Edwards, for his help with car parking, grounds and catering.
Further to this, we would like to acknowledge the generosity of Kit Stephens at Vinefera, who has kindly provided 200 bottles of Champagne Duval Leroy for use at Christ Church on August 9th. Here it will help us to celebrate the meeting of IZ and the Free Foresters for the first time since 1876. All past and present members and supporters of both clubs will be welcome for the celebration.
Thanks also to Abraham Neale and Robin Thorne for their kind donations to the festival, plus all the others who have supported us since this programme went to press.
Finally, we owe enormous thanks to CricInfo who have helped The Cricketer to burden the cost of organising Oxford 2000. Their participation also means that the games will be posted live on www.cricinfo.com alongside all English County Matches, Test Matches and One Day Internationals.
