(2nd Test: India v England at Ahmedabad, 11-15 Dec 2001)
Craig White came to India primarily as a fast bowler who could bat a bit. Soon after his arrival though he realised that he still had not regained his peak fitness and hence could not bowl at express pace. White offered a few chances in his innings; Dasgupta putting down the easiest of ‘em all. The good thing about this Yorkshire player is his attitude; he leaves the past behind and concentrates on the present. White went on to make a cracking 121 runs, which went on to help him win the Man of the Match award at the close of the game. Along with James Foster (40), White added 105 valuable runs for the seventh wicket partnership. England were bowled out for 407 made off 144.3 overs.
