(2nd Test: India v England at Ahmedabad, 11-15 Dec 2001)
Shiv Sunder Das (58) and Dasgupta (60) gave India good start with a century stand at the top of the order. India had settled for a draw way earlier and resorted to stonewalling. The chase was never on and after having controlled the game for the first four days, England had to be content with a draw. No team really lost the encounter and no team 'won' the match. India were (198 for three) at close of play on the final day; they go in to the final Test match at Bangalore with a 1-0 lead.
