India in their second innings opened with Dighe and Das. Dighe (4) and
Laxman (20) were dismissed early in the innings. It was left to the man in
form, Das, to play a major innings. Along with Sachin Tendulkar (69) he
added 118 runs to take India to 150. Tendulkar perished to Streak, snared
at point by Grant Flower. The third day's play ended with the fall of
Dravid's wicket (26) caught behind by Andy Flower off the bowling of
Blignaut. Das remained unbeaten on a fighting 68 helping India to 197/4, an
overall lead of 119.
