(Colombo Final ODI - 05 Aug 2001)
Romesh Kaluwitharana joined Russel Arnold in the middle and enjoyed
some good times. The Indian bowlers again erred in line allowing some
free hits. The two batsmen added 77 runs for the fifth wicket in 10.3
overs. Arnold was the aggressive of the two, making 52
brilliant runs off just 45 balls with the help of six boundaries.
Arnold was dismissed off the last ball of the innings going for a big
one. Kalu remained unbeaten on 31 off 32 balls. Sri Lanka finished
with 295/5 in 50 overs, which in the end proved to be just too much
for the Indian batsmen.
