The Indian run chase was a total disaster; Ganguly (4) was trapped right in front of the stumps by Kyle Mills. Laxman (1) dragged one from Tuffey to his stumps. Shewag (33) was brilliantly run out by Vettori off his own bowling. Badani (6) failed once again. Dravid (27) was the only remaining hope, but a ball from Oram undid him and India were struggling on 99/5 after 27.2 overs. Between the three of the world-class top order batsmen, only score 32 runs was added, which was never going to be good enough.
