Pollock's Double - Further Records Atul Kahate - 28 March 1999 Further to the details of Shaun Pollock completing the 'double' of 1000 runs and 100 wickets in the least number of matches and his record against all opponents, it can now be proved that he is also the youngest ever to complete this double and has done it in the shorest career span, both records held previously by Steve Waugh. At the age of 25 years and 253 days, Pollock beat Steve Waugh's world record (25 years and 284 days); and has also done it in the shortest period since debut. His career span of 3 years and 77 days when completing the double overtakes Steve Waugh's 5 years and 64 days. The following table shows the youngest players completing the double. For the record, the oldest to complete the double was Viv Richards, who reached the milestone on his 37th birth day in the 14th year of his career, the longest of them all. Youngest to complete the LOI double of 1000 runs and 100 wickets
