- Commission to resume probe from June 30   June 26 (The Dawn ) Karachi, June 25: The judicial commission investigating corruption in Pakistan cricket will resume its investigations later this month. Justice Malik Mohammad Qayyum, who heads the one-man committee, has set June 30 as the date of hearing. Former coach Javed Miandad and four bookies have been summoned.

- Pakistan to propose change in World Cup final format   June 29 (The Dawn ) Islamabad, June 28: Pakistan plans to propose to the International Cricket Council to determine the World Cup winner team through a best of three round, rather than a single contest of finale in future. This was disclosed by Dr Zafar Altaf, the manager of Pakistan Cricket team. In his first interview since his return from England, he spoke to Dawn here on Monday on Pakistan's defeat at Lords on June 20. He spoke on a number of pressing topics relating to World Cup 1999. He said all the formalities required for putting forth the proposal have been finalized and chairman PCCB, Khalid Mahmood, will table it in the forthcoming meeting of the ICC.

- Pakistan team returns today   June 24 (The Dawn ) Karachi, June 23: Pakistan cricket team returns Thursday after finishing as runners-up in the World Cup. While it has been confirmed that skipper Wasim Akram, Saqlain Mushtaq, Shoaib Akhtar and Saeed Anwar would not be travelling with the team, it was unclear if any of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials will be arriving.

- Cricket team returns: Moin, Zafar defend team's performance in final   June 25 (Samiul Hasan ) Karachi, June 24: Dozens of gun-totting personnel of law enforcement agencies and an estimated 1,000 angry cricket fans were at the airport when the first group of 10 members of Pakistan's World Cup team arrived here from London on Thursday morning. The crowd comprised mostly airport services personnel. They raised slogans against the team's defeat, particularly against skipper Wasim Akram, batsmen Ijaz Ahmed and Inzamam-ul-Haq.
