Location

[Lincoln University Logo] Located in central Canterbury, in the South Island of New Zealand, Lincoln University is just a 15-minute drive from Christchurch's International Airport and the central city.

The township of Lincoln (from which the University takes its name) is just minutes down the road and is also home to several national research institutes.

Christchurch is well placed in the central South Island to act as a starting point for visitors wanting to explore further afield. Popular tourist attractions such as the West Coast rainforests, the spectacular Southern Alps, Kaikoura's whale watching, thermal pools at Hanmer Springs, and much more are less than a day's drive away. Canterbury is also an excellent place to explore a wide range of outdoor pursuits, from skiing, bushwalking, climbing and kayaking, to fishing, windsurfing and sailing.

The University Campus

[Ivey Hall Library Photo] The Lincoln University campus is picturesque and park-like, with impressive views across the Canterbury Plains to the Southern Alps.

In addition to the amenities within the grounds of the University, there are many others only walking distance away - including golf courses and various attractions in the Lincoln township. A regular bus service operates from the campus to central Christchurch, placing the resources of a large city within easy reach.

The campus itself is intimate and accessible, with a pleasant blend of new and historic architecture.
