India name full-strength squad for Champions Trophy India on Monday decided to send its best team to the Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka. Jagmohan Dalmiya, the BCCI president, made the announcement after the ICC and member boards representing all the other Test-playing nations assured him that all his demands would be met. The 14-man squad led by Sourav Ganguly contains all the marquee names of Indian cricket. Rahul Dravid, who had a splendid tour of England, has been retained as the vice-captain. The only new face in the squad is hard-hitting batting all-rounder Jai Prakash Yadav. Yadav had recently toured the Emerald Isles with the India ‘A’ side and his good showing in the one-dayers against the Sri Lanka ‘A’ side possibly clinched him a berth ahead of the likes of Sanjay Bangar and Sunil Joshi.
