World Cup 2003

Well done indeed. The picture of Desmond Chumney holding the Maple Leaf high in the air in the Toronto Star summed up the feeling perfectly. Good luck with the rest of the tournament. May the force be with you!

EXCELLENT TEAM SPIRIT AND OUTSTANDING GAMESMANSHIP CONTRIBUTED TO OUR TERRIFIC AND TREMENDOUS VICTORY. CONGRATS TO OUR CANADIAN TEAM FOR THEIR SPLENDID WIN. COME ON SATTAUR WE NEED YOU TO DESTROY THE BOWLING LIKE YOU DID IN TORONTO OVER THE LAST FOUR YEARS WITH 100'S AND 200'S. GOOD LUCK AND HOPE YOU CONTINUE TO MAKE US PROUD. AS A "DIE HARD" CRICKET FAN AND PROUD CANADIAN FOR OVER 25 YEARS I AM EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH YOU GUYS. BRAVO AND CHEERS!

most people thought that west indies would beat new zealand, so,that goes the same way with canada, they can beat most of these team, but you have to play hard. no one thought that kenya can beat w.i and they did.

great job guys. I was at the match in Durban and hopefully will be at the match in Capetown to cheer you on again. as a ninth generation (or so) Canadian I learned about the game overseas. it was great to actually be there on a historic day. I was there with some South African friends and they were impressed with the enthusiasm in the field as was I. keep up the good work.

We are happy for Team Canada Cricket. You have made Canada very proud. Good luck against Kenya.

Congratulations Canada! Sheila Copps launched her Liberal leadership campaign yesterday and did a great favour to Cricket in Canada, that was broadcast over CFRB 1010 on prime time. When asked "do you think you can beat Paul Martin" She commented "Who would have thought the Canadian Cricket Team would beat the Bangladesh team?" This politics is good for Cricket. CCA should write to her and let her know how neglected the Canadian Cricket is. We should get their support to help pay our Canadian Cricketers a decent pay when they tour abroad. Please encourage your Cricket fans to write to her, because she seem to know at least something about cricket.

Great stuff from the Canadian lads. Good to see the new teams putting up a good show. Who was the test team on display in Durban?? Best of luck for the rest of the tournament from Barmy Army Dave

I would hereby like to congratulate all the players in the Canadian team for a wonderful game. They totally out played the Bangladesh side, and deserve to make it through to the Super Six Round of the competition. I would also like to find out how I could become involved with Cricket in Canada, if I finally have the funds to Move there from South Africa.

Congratulations on a wonderful win in your first World Cup match. It was such a good result for all your hard work. I look forward to the future matches with eager interest. Rest assured that you have many supporters pulling for you back home in Canada. Good luck and all the best.

A truly remarkable performance. Overall a match won by remarkable fielding. Great leadership Joseph, have the squad ready for Kenya. All of us in Canada believe in you. Hopefully your endeavors in Africa will help promote the sport here, and eventually get you television coverage which is desperately lacking.

Congratulations to you all! And especially Ian Bilcliff, from another Canadian ex-pat who wound up in Otago. Good luck with the rest of the campaign, I'll be watching.

Congratulations to the Canadian team and to all Canadian supporters. I really admired the spirit with which the team played. Hope this win helps improve the infrastructure for Cricket in Canada and hope this great game gets the much needed support of your citizens.

Fabulous, fabulous win over Bangladesh. Congratulations to the entire Canadian team, you have made us proud. Hopefully this win will do much to spur the game of cricket in Canada and create opportunities for cricket neophytes (like me) to play and learn more about the game.

Unbelievable efforts lads. No one thought David Boon could drink 54 cans of beer on the flight from Sydney to London but he knew and that's all that matters. Now onto to Kenya - point the elbow and take them down.
