India began the match in the best possible fashion when Sourav
Ganguly won the toss and promptly elected to bat. But the joy was
short-lived as the skipper himself became the first wicket to
fall after a struggle that lasted only 21 balls. Feet going
nowhere, Ganguly slashed at a wide ball from Brett Lee and was
caught behind easily by Adam Gilchrist for nine. Understandably,
Lee and Gilchrist could scarcely conceal their glee.
