The English press are quick to hail virtually anyone who can run
12 consecutive steps as the next fast-bowling find of the
century. But in James Anderson's case, they have more reason to
feel justified. A young tyro who can bowl straighter and faster
than any of England's bowlers in recent memory, Anderson
impressed observers during the VB Series in Australia. Against
the Netherlands at East London, Anderson broke the back of the
Dutch top order, taking the first four wickets with balls that
were full and fast.
