It was Craig Wishart's turn to take centrestage when Zimbabwe
took on Namibia in the first match in Pool A, played at Harare.
Opening the innings after Namibia won the toss and put the hosts
in, the big-hitting Wishart went on to record the highest score
by a Zimbabwean in an ODI. During the course of his 172 not out
from just 151 balls, Wishart also emulated Zimbabwe's greatest
cricketer and team-mate Andy Flower's record of scoring a hundred
in his very first World Cup match. With the big-hitting opener
carrying his bat through the innings and pounding the Namibian
bowlers into submission, Zimbabwe went on to post a massive
340/2, their highest total in ODI cricket.
