After two unexpected losses against West Indies and New Zealand,
South Africa needed to win - and emphatically at that - against
Bangladesh. With this in mind, Shaun Pollock, after winning the
toss, decided to put his opponents in on a sporting wicket at
Bloemfontein. Leading from the front, the South African skipper
then went on to show the rest of his attack the way by claiming
both the Bangladesh openers early. Pollock's mean and incisive
six-over spell saw him end up with flattering figures of 6-2-8-2.
