electing to bat but the early honours were wrested by the
Pakistan bowlers. The legendary Wasim Akram, who needed just two
wickets at the start of the match to establish the 500 ODI
wickets club, drew first blood when he got Marcus Trescothick to
edge a ball through to the 'keeper Rashid Latif.
