Any thoughts Canada might have entertained of causing an unlikely
upset, though, was quickly blown away by Wavell Hinds (64 off 31
balls) and Brian Lara (73 off 40 balls). Lara was at his vintage
best and one over in which he hit Barry Seeberan for four, six,
four, six and six off successive balls will always remain seared
in the memory of every cricket-lover who witnessed it.
Incidentally, Lara also went on to notch up the fastest fifty in
World Cup off 23 balls on the way to setting up his side's
emphatic seven-wicket win.
