Young Mohammad Ashraful was Bangladesh's star of the day. After a
tentative start, the teenager settled down to play some memorable
shots, including a pulled six that soared high and handsome over
the long-leg fence. Ashraful went on to make 56 off 82 balls, the
first fifty by a Bangladesh batsman in this World Cup, before
being dismissed. His effort was mainly responsible in helping his
team reach a respectable 198/7 in their 50 overs.
