Aravinda de Silva was run out after a terrible misunderstanding with Jayasuriya, the Sri Lankan captain having to take the blame for the dismissal. de Silva looked in brilliant form, but then with Jayasuriya taking it too easy for the second run had de Silva run out. Mahela Jayawardene's lean patch with the bat continues; he failed once again making just nine, as Sri Lanka slumped to 131/4.
