After Ricky Ponting won the toss, Kenya were soon up against it as a hostile Brett Lee threatened to decimate them and fast. In his second over, he claimed a sensational hat-trick, dismissing Kennedy Otieno, Brijal Patel and David Obuya with his final three deliveries. Obuya got a snorter that hit him on his elbow before deflecting onto the stumps, Patel a full-length delivery that claimed the outside edge and eased into the hands of second slip, whilst Obuya was cleaned up by a peach of a yorker.
