The master blaster also became the first cricketer to cross 10,000 runs in one-day internationals earlier in 2001. Tendulkar has thus far played 280 one-dayers, scoring 10,803 runs at an average of 43.73. He is by far the most successful batsman in one-dayers and has slammed 31 centuries and 53 half-centuries. He is more than handy with the ball in the shorter version of the game as well, picking up 103 wickets. In 2001, Tendulkar scored 904 runs in 17 matches at an average of 69.53 and came second to Mark Waugh in aggregate runs for the year.
