Sourav Chandidas Ganguly, the Indian skipper carries the pride and hope of
millions of cricket fans in India. This elegant left-handed strokeplayer
from Bengal led the Indian team to a remarkable Test series win over the
all conquering Australians in the home series. After having lost the first
Test in Mumbai within three days, Ganguly led his men admirably to notch up
the series win with back to back victories in Kolkata and Chennai. But another stern test awaits them in Zimbabwe in June. The Indian team has not won a Test series abroad for a good eight years, the last one coming in Sri Lanka in the year 1993. His mission is not one that is impossible; he has to lead from the front and make his team believe that they are not just tigers at home.
