Fantastic win and congratulations. I saw the highlights and you well deserved the victory. I played cricket on the Governor Generals' ground here in Ottawa for three seasons and can therefore feel part of your achievements. Look forward to more great results starting at the Newlands on Saturday. John Dimock Psychiatrist and ex opening bat- now too old

Congratulation Canada for the first win in world cup. I went out on yonge street with a Canadian Flag and horned for the victory like all the peoples do when Maple Leaf wins (we are proud of Maple Leaf too), but i was very upset that i didn't find any one else there. I hope all of the cricket fans will go out in downtown with Canadian Flag to appreciate the hard work by our young Canadian players after the victory over Kenya and rest of the teams. The Canadian Cricket Team will be invited in my restaurant called Noor-e-Zunnoon Restaurant at Coxwell and Gerrard for lunch after their return from World Cup. YOU CAN DO IT! WE ARE PROUD OF YOU. Keep up the hard work.

Living in Victoria, BC with it's tradition of British remittancemen and the more English than England Tweed Curtain,it's refreshing to know that Canadian cricketeers have a chance to play & win. We're proud of what you have accomplished. May you slay a few more dragons before the tourney is over. Perhaps I should have paid more attention to our youthful winter game of Canadian rules cricket, played with baseball bats, a softball & snow piles as the wickets.

Congratulations on a great win over Bangladesh. Now let's do the same against Kenya. Then do the arithmetic ... WI and SA finish with 11 wins between them, Canada steals a win (or even a draw) against NZ or SL .... and then the rest split the remaining 28 or 30 points pretty much evenly! You just never know! Come on, Canada

As someone who was born in Durban, but now lives in Canada, I want to say how proud I am that Canada won their first World Cup Cricket game in my old home town. And at the historic Kingsmead ground where I saw many tests. Well done guys!

Congratulations to the Canadian Cricket Team. Your victory over Bangladesh has attracted the attention of the Media in Calgary. For the first time, cricket news was in the front pages of The Clagary Herald and CBC TV had a couple of minutes coverage in the evening news today. Good luck in the next game against Kenya. We will be cheering for you from here.

Good on ya! Outstanding performance. In a hot and iceless society such as Australia (where we both live) we are always copping it for not being a cricket nation. You have done us proud. How good is Canada! Well done and go get that second victory. Super Six, here we come!!!

In a time when commerce and politics has stolen cricket's charm, your passionate display gives reason for hope. At one hand we have the overpaid & overhyped Indians and on the other we have your team which is poorly paid. Yet one would pay to see you play. Keep it up.

Well done guys. I am a Canadian playing my first season of cricket in Perth, Australia and I was truly inspired by your performance. You've got your confidence boost with the win, and now you can take it to the other teams. Best of luck!
