Zimbabwe v Netherlands - Action Replay
Chris Gayle had nicely settled in to play the lead role, cracking
boundaries off the fast bowlers. Ramnaresh Sarwan, batting at
number four, had a good measure of the Sri Lankan attack. When
Dilhara Fernando dug a ball in short, Sarwan hooked it away for
four. The following ball was a much faster bouncer, and the
unlucky Sarwan ducked straight into the line of the delivery.
Felled by the bouncer, Sarwan was taken to the hospital
immediately. This was something one did not want to see happening
on a cricket ground. Hooper replaced Sarwan, but only for a
minute, trapped lbw by Fernando for a golden duck. It was a
masterstroke by Jayasuriya to bring back Vaas for a second spell,
and he got rid of Gayle (55) and Jacobs (0) in the same over.
Jacobs was quite unlucky to be given out caught behind.
